  Exhibition Introduction

The Brazil International Two-Wheeled Vehicle Trade Show, commonly known as the Brazil Two-Wheeled Show, has been held for 24 years since 1991. After years of dedicated effort, and by closely aligning with market trends, target audiences, smart strategies, and well-planned initiatives, the Brazil Two-Wheeled Show has finally become the motorcycle and accessories expo with the highest recovery rate in South America.

The Brazil Two-Wheeled Vehicle Exhibition is held every two years. Each edition sees a significant increase in both the number of exhibitors and visitors compared to the previous one, attracting numerous exhibitors and visitors from Brazil and around the world. In 2006, more than 20,000 buyers were registered, and the number of unregistered visitors exceeded 30,000. In 2008, the number of registered buyers reached over 21,000, while the number of unregistered visitors surpassed 40,000. By 2010, the number of registered buyers had risen to over 23,000, with unregistered visitors exceeding 50,000, and more than 120 motorcycle manufacturers from around the globe participated in the exhibition. It is projected that the 2012 Brazil Two-Wheeled Vehicle Exhibition will feature approximately 300 exhibitors and attract over 120,000 visitors.

To ensure the successful hosting of the 2012 Brazil Two-Wheel Exhibition, the organizing committee has conducted extensive research and deliberations on international market demands and trends. This Brazil Two-Wheel Show will serve as a catalyst; there is no doubt that South America’s largest motorcycle and accessories exhibition will facilitate even more orders between exhibitors and customers. In today’s globally interconnected environment, with the widespread adoption of two-wheeled vehicles such as motorcycles and bicycles, these vehicles have become an indispensable part of both public perception and market demand.

Motorcycles, bicycles, and other two-wheeled vehicles are convenient modes of transportation in rural and urban leisure settings as well as in urban service industries (such as small-batch delivery services) in South America. They serve as essential tools for low- and middle-income households to travel short distances and between cities, and they play a crucial role as means of transportation and information dissemination in rural areas, farms, and underdeveloped regions.

The growth in motorcycle sales is closely linked to economic development. Analysis indicates that motorcycle prices in Brazil have risen significantly below the overall inflation rate, which has indirectly boosted motorcycle sales. Currently, in the northern and northeastern regions of Brazil, motorcycle sales have already surpassed car sales—for instance, in the state of Ceará, motorcycles outnumber cars in 160 out of a total of 180 municipalities.

The motorcycle market in Brazil is large and rapidly growing; it’s projected that annual sales will reach 1.6 to 2 million units over the next five years. However, Brazil itself suffers from a severe shortage of domestic production capacity and relies heavily on imports to meet demand. As a result, Brazil encourages foreign investment and promotes the localization of foreign-owned enterprises. In the Brazilian motorcycle market, Japan-based companies are China’s biggest competitors.

Currently, of the 49 Chinese motorcycle brands sold in the Brazilian market, only 13 have established local production facilities; the rest are either imported or assembled in Brazil using 100% imported components.

  Market Analysis

Brazil is a major economic power in Latin America, boasting the most comprehensive industrial system in the region. It ranks first in Latin America in terms of economic strength and is the largest market in the Southern Hemisphere as well as the world’s tenth-largest economy. Each year, Brazil attracts foreign investment amounts second only to China, placing it second among developing countries in this regard. Currently, the trade environment between China and Brazil is favorable, and political, economic, and cultural relations between the two countries are at their best in history. Brazil is China’s largest trading partner in Latin America, while China is Brazil’s third-largest trading partner, its third-largest export market, and its second-largest import market.

Chinese auto parts products have also captured a significant share of the Brazilian auto parts market. Moreover, Brazil’s domestic economy is relatively stable, and ongoing reforms in import-export policies and taxation will further promote the continuous development of Sino-Brazilian economic and trade relations. As a result, Chinese enterprises face relatively fewer obstacles when entering the Brazilian market at this time. As South America’s largest motorcycle producer and the world’s fifth-largest motorcycle market, Brazil has long been a force to be reckoned with in the motorcycle industry. Not only is the motorcycle sector in Brazil growing rapidly, but it also boasts substantial potential for sustainable development—making it a truly promising sunrise industry within Brazil today.

More than 30 models of motorcycles from mainland China are now available on the Brazilian market. These products have assembly lines both in Brazil and mainland China. Over the past decade, demand for motorcycles in Brazil has surged, and Chinese-made motorcycles have risen to prominence over the last three years. Each year, more than 2 million motorcycles are sold in Brazil. In the Brazilian motorcycle market, the share of Chinese products has now climbed to nearly 10%.
