What is mechanical bearing?

Whenever you have a mechanical process involving rotating or rolling parts, you need high-quality mechanical bearings and seals. Bearing is of great importance in providing rotation and linear motion in the device. Its way can limit friction and evenly distribute the stress applied on the system. In other cases, these stresses may lead to some catastrophic system failures. At the same time, the seal can not only maintain the lubricant required for the normal operation of the bearing, but also prevent the pollution in the form of harmful particles from entering the system.
1、 Bearing types you will encounter
The two main types of antifriction bearings are ball bearings and roller bearings. Ball bearings are not common. They are solid spheres with fast rotation speed, but they are only suitable for medium or heavy loads in specific types of applications, from large pumps and compressors to micro servo motors.
Roller bearings are more widely used. These types of bearings have double rings with rolling elements that operate in their tracks. They have the same envelope size as ball bearings, but can provide a larger radial load rating due to the large surface contact area.
2、 Roller bearings have several subcategories
1. Cylindrical roller
The contact between these rollers and the outer ring is much deeper than other types of roller bearings, and they can distribute the load they bear on a wider surface.
2. Tapered roller
These rollers are narrow at both ends, but have different omni-directional shapes compared with other types of roller bearings.
3. Needle roller
These needles are similar to cylindrical needles, but on average they are longer and wider.
4. Symmetrical roller
These rollers are self-aligned and have the same shape and size on all sides.
5. Asymmetric roller
Although these roller rollers are also self-aligned, the shape and size of each side are different, which makes them asymmetric.
